FOUNDER / RETIRED
Art Beck made Columbus his home 47 years ago and has been serving the people of Columbus ever since, focusing on corporate, real estate, estate planning and probate. Art considers himself to be a problem solver. His goal is to make life simple and understandable for his clients. He enjoys picking up his seven grandchildren every day from school. It’s scary to him, but he’s finding that he’s starting to like their music.
Jeff concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate law and advising businesses on everything from start-up to sale and all matters in between, including employment law. He is regularly called on to answer the question, “Can I fire this jerk employee of mine?” to which he normally responds, “Heck yeah!” He is a veteran of many epic small claims battles such as the case of the Stud Poodle. In that case, Mr. Beck skillfully recovered $400 (plus court costs!) for the Plaintiff who had paid Defendant $400 for Defendant’s poodle to impregnate Plaintiff’s very attractive blonde poodle. Unfortunately, Stud Poodle was not up the challenge.
Mr. Beck is a Member in Good Standing at Sam’s Club and has been pre-approved for dizzying array of credit cards. He is also regularly sought out via email for assistance in depositing large sums of money from African countries.
Jeff puts his clients at ease and brings comfort in trying times.
The pioneer of casual Mondays (Tuesdays, Wednesdays….), he generally won't wear a suit, unless a judge makes him. Jeff is a one man repository of legal advice, 1980’s film quotes and song lyrics. He rarely takes himself seriously and has found that to be disarming in both business dealings and litigation. When necessary, he is more than capable of making really mean faces – a skill not lost on his kids.
At a full six feet tall, Jeff towers over his partners, and can put that physical presence to good use – at times carrying more than one bank box of files. Jeff is loud, he gets it. It’s probably a Michigan thing.
What you can be sure of is that Jeff routinely guides clients through the complexities of business law, real estate, estate planning and probate with skill and common sense. He has built his practice on relationships and by caring about his clients more than his wardrobe or the view from his office window.
Prior to joining Beck, Rocker & Habig, Eric was a partner in the largest transportation law firm in the United States. He defended trucking, logistics and warehousing companies in large loss negligence and wrongful death lawsuits throughout the country. And Eric was regularly called upon to protect companies from direct financial exposure. This high-stakes work was invaluable in shaping his legal skills and tenacious approach to cases. Eric learned how to defend cases at the highest level, and had a lot of success. But, his heart was always with those who were injured. In 2017, Eric followed his passion for helping people who are facing the immense challenges posed by serious injuries and death when he joined Beck, Rocker & Habig. He is now using the irreplaceable knowledge gained in his first 18 years of practice to help those who have been wronged. Eric’s unmatched experience uniquely qualifies him to represent you and your family when someone else’s negligence has resulted in serious injury or death. He is aggressive. He is skilled. And Eric guarantees the direct communication and responsiveness you want, need and deserve in your personal injury lawyer.
Shortly after getting his first lawyer job in Indianapolis, Justin confidently told a colleague that, “I don’t have any interest in moving back to my hometown to practice.” Ten years into practicing in Indianapolis in the arcane areas of environmental and insurance law, as well as the grab-bag of law that a corporate general counsel deals with, he decided his 27-year-old self was a bit of an idiot and moved back to Columbus, where he’s focused his practice on a variety of business and real estate transactional law while wistfully hoping someone, somewhere, spills toxic chemicals and calls him to help.
Justin has quickly discovered the satisfaction that comes with fixing problems for his clients that would otherwise keep them up at night. He has also discovered the benefits of an 8-minute commute, working in a town where you’ve known people your entire life, and that drafting liability
protection clauses in a lease regarding a flock of sheep is more challenging than one might think.

Because Ashley worked her way up from internship to legal assistant to paralegal to attorney, she knows the ins and outs of a personal injury case from start to finish, and she promises to work diligently, professionally, and passionately for each and every client.
